Australia embarked on its COVID-19 Vaccination Program in February 2021.
Unfortunately, due to reasons beyond our control, Family Doctors Highton has not been allocated any vaccines to administer. We are working with authorities to become a COVID-19 vaccination provider, so watch this space and our Facebook and Instagram for updates!
Barwon Health has also commenced mass COVID-19 vaccinations for the community at the former Ford factory in Norlane. Go to the Barwon Health COVID-19 site for more information.
Most of us will be receiving the Astra-Zeneca Oxford vaccine. Two doses are required to achieve protective immunity, where the doses are given at least 12 weeks (3 months) apart.
If you have any questions or concerns about COVID-19 vaccination, Dr Ern and Dr Catherine are available to provide advice to help you make your decision.
Stay well, and stay safe.
Dr Ern, Dr Catherine and the FDH fam.
